Hardly Working!

Am I working hard or hardly working?
It's both! I am working hard and grinding like no other! Writing copy, working on brand analysis, and taking client calls before the day gets super busy. But I am doing that at my kitchen table while eating breakfast with my kiddos, and assisting them with their schoolwork!
Take time to feed your mind and your body! I know that if I do not eat a meal or have a smoothie at the beginning of the day, I will eventually get a headache. I also enjoy a good morning coffee (not pictured because my eldest daughter is making both of ours, haha. She's my office assistant intern), it soothes and calms my soul!
If you have the opportunity to work from home, work where you are most productive. If that is at a desk in a dedicated office area or study, go there. But if that means you're outside on your patio under an umbrella, soaking up the sun, then do that. And, if it means you sit at your kitchen table, working while your kiddos work, and everyone is productive, getting all their work and assignments done, that works too!
If you want to be the best creative you can be, you need to feed your mind, body, and soul!
You should ensure that you are feeding your body the nutrients it needs to function optimally. In turn, this nurtures your mind as well. Choose a workspace that is the most conducive to allowing you to output and produce the best talents and services for your clients. Your mind goes into a calming space because you are comfortable and will most likely focus better. And your soul benefits from overall well-being as opposed to counterintuitive energy.
So, in short, you will be able to serve them kick-butt work because you weren't thinking about food, and you're not uncomfortable (I personally work better when I am not worried about my kiddos or feel that I am taking time away from them. My husband and I homeschool, so this works best for our family and for me as a working mom), and you'll give your best work!
Take care of yourself so that your talent can blossom! No one is going to ask if you produced the awesome work that you turned in from an office cubical or if you were lounging by a pool when you did it!
Just get work done and kick butt!
Give yourself the best so you can give your clients -AND- family the best you!
Because if you are not giving yourself the best, who are you saving the best version of yourself for?
