There is Not Enough Time in The World. You Need to Trust the Process.

As a client, it is often difficult to trust the service provider that you are hiring. Especially, when it comes to your brand, brand image, your products, or your business. But, you must.

In order to grow your business and move in the direction that you are wanting to you cannot always say "I will do it myself." If that was the case, why are you even considering hiring out the tasks in question to a provider? I mean, think about it, if it were as simple as completing the task yourself, wouldn't you just do it!

But, we both know that it is not. Whether your reasons are for saving time, because you don't possess the creative direction for a project or because you're not savvy with marketing strategy, it really does not matter what you're reasons are! You're not the one preforming the task.

So you need to trust the person who you hired to do the task.

More importantly, you need to trust the process that they have relayed to you.

Because, no matter the reason (s) you hired this person, you did hire them for a reason. So, you need to allow them to execute the process.

As a Provider, you need to bring it! Not just your game face, but the actual game itself! When a client hires you for a service, it's touchdown time!

As a provider, you need to instill trust in the relationship between your Client and you. You have to implement the factor of trust into the process in order for your Client to have conviction in the process that you have presented to them.

How do you do that?

Communication.

And

Just do the darn task!

Do the task, and do it to the best of your capabilities -AND- at the level of performance that was promised to the Client.

This gets paired with communication.

I am a firm believer in over communication. It is better to over communicate than to under communicate. Or worse, not communicate at all.

When I say over communicate, I do not mean to make a 10 min phone call and hour long conference call or elongate an email that could be summed up in a paragraph.

Business owners, creatives, artists, all of us are short on time! Time is a commodity you cannot produce more of. That's why your clients are hiring you. Regardless, of the reason that they give you. It all goes back to time. Time is the root reason for you, as the provider, taking on their needs and tasks. So, value their time as you value your own.

Give details and expand on the explanation of deliverables when necessary. If you feel that something is amiss, then definitely over communicate.

Otherwise, just do the darn task. That is the only way to gain your Client's trust...

And to get hired again! (And again, and again!)
